As the Chile Gaming Commission prepares to announce the total projects submitted by casino operators for 17 new licenses available in the country, SAGSE Buenos Aires 2005 organizers Monografie announced a special event on the second day of the expo, Thursday November 10, called "The Day of Chile." On the central day of the Argentinean expo, which runs over 9-11 November at the Centro de Convenciones Costa Salguero, the event dedicated to the South American nation will feature diverse activities and meetings between the exhibitors and all political and private authorities interested in the new gaming developments in Chile.
The keynote Speaker on "The Day of Chile" will be senor Francisco Javier Leiva, Gaming Commission Superintendent. In addition, Monografie has secured the participation of an important number of Chilean authorities involved in the business and gaming regulatory process of that country, to update all the relevant news and objectives in the course of the country's developments in the gaming industry. “The Day of Chile” in SAGSE Buenos Aires will be a valuable additional opportunity for business in the industry.
Giorgio Gennari, president of Monografie declared that as the Chile special event falls on the same day as the “The Great Gaming Gala”, which is the great SAGSE party that traditionally takes place on the second night of the three day expo, then during the course of the evening's celebrations: "We will have among its guests of honor, the contractors who are developing these accomplishments in the region".
About the time of the SAGSE Buenos Aires expo in November, the industry will know of some of the project applications that have been successful in Chile, and some of the operating Giants in the region such as Cirsa, Egasa, Latin Gaming and Thunderbird will surely take part in the party celebrations of November 10. Along with these and other operators will be American company Casino Magic, which yesterday announced investments in Chile for US$120 millions when they filed casino projects for five top cities in the country: Antofagasta, Calama, Rancagua, Concepcion and Talca.
Paul Contesse, Casino Magic president and CEO for Latin America said: " We are proud to be investing in Chile, and to be contributing to the economic and tourist development of the five cities we have selected. We are sure that our investments will contribute to decentralize the economic activity in the country." Adding that each of the Casino Magic projects has taken into consideration the geography, environment and the culture of the each one of the localities where they are sited, and for that they have established alliances and joint ventures with local companies and institutions. Casino Magic is owned by Pinnacle Entertainment, an American company registered on the New York Stock Exchange, and operates casinos in several American states, as well as three casinos in neighbouring Argentina.
