Casino Surveillance is a unique and highly specialized area. The ever expanding gaming industry and the changing face of technology present unprecedented challenges and opportunities for surveillance managers. Now more than ever, it is important to develop strong leaders armed with technical and financial management skills to assist casino organizations achieve their business goals in the new digital world.
The 2nd Annual Surveillance Directors Academy will be held during the week of November 9-13, 2009 at the International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The program begins at 8:00am each day and concludes at 5:00pm. Classes are 70 minutes long with 10 minute breaks and a 1 hour lunch break. The program is intensive and includes lectures, discussion sessions, a field trip and pre-course work. Pre-course assignments are given to students one month out from commencement of the SDA.
The SDA was established in 2008 to give surveillance professionals the tools they need to assist them run or start-up a casino surveillance operation in the “digital age”. The program focuses on how surveillance can add value to an organization. The instructors are acknowledged experts in their field and have all had experience at the casino corporate level and understand the importance of making sure surveillance goals are linked with the overall objective of the casino.
The SDA is open to casino surveillance professionals who are currently employed as a Surveillance Director, Manager, Trainer or Supervisor. A minimum of 12
months experience in any of these positions is required. The program is restricted to 30 participants. Participants are required to be fluent in English. Applicants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.
