At noon today the Starlight Casino in British Columbia will open its doors and remain open 24 hours each day. Located in Queensborough, the province’s US$109 million 100,000 sq ft casino offers the best in gaming entertainment, including 850 slot machines, 45 gaming tables, poker room and a private gaming room. Fine dining and an intimate show lounge with live entertainment complete the full-service entertainment facility.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has contracted Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Inc to provide day to day operational services. The Starlight Casino replaces the closed Royal City Star Casino riverboat in New Westminster. It will have a Responsible Play Information Centre, an initiative of the BC Partnership for Responsible Gambling, to provide customer education and a link to provincial programmes to aid those with problem gambling issues.

Coming next year, players will be able to enjoy a great dining experience at the 450-seat luxurious Asian restaurant, Kirin, and a brand new, 1,000-seat, interactive sports bar from Alberta's pioneering and popular 'Schanks' team. Gateway is one of western Canada's largest casino operators and was recently acquired by New World Gaming Partners Ltd. The BCLC mission is to provide responsible gaming entertainment generating income for the public good.
