It may have been deemed by some to be an inauspicious date, Friday 13th, but Isle of Capri announced its newest brand ‘the isle.’ to combine a tropical paradise with dynamic Las Vegas casino action. There are four Isle of Capri Casinos brands including the isle, Isle of Capri, Colorado Central Station and Rhythm City. The new brand launched at the isle. casino & racing at pompano park in Florida, which opened to guests for the first time on Saturday, after gaining approval from state regulators the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering .

The Florida casino includes 1,500 slot machines, a poker room and four restaurants including the company-branded Farraddays' steakhouse, signature tropical-themed buffet, a full-service New York-style delicatessen and Italian osteria created by accomplished chef Luke Palladino. The heart of the casino includes a multi-story feature bar offering vibrant high action imagery and audio on multiple video displays. The project also includes new racing amenities including a high-tech sports bar, wagering area over-looking the track and a new Winner's Circle.

On the subject of the new brand, Tim Hinkley, President and COO of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., said, “"The isle. brand can best be described as our next generation, an environment where our guests can make their own fun. By bringing natural features indoors, we have created sophisticated and exciting surroundings. The isle will surely provide our guests an enjoyable entertaining experience." Competition for the new venue will come from two Seminole Tribe casinos in Broward County.

A second floor at the Pompano Park casino is scheduled to open in May. For a long time the Pompano Park harness track was the only non-casino property held by the company. Three further ‘the isle.’ properties are in the pipeline with two expected to open later this summer. Casinos at Waterloo in Iowa and Coventry in England will be followed by a new land-based casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The company presently operates 15 casinos, including one in Freeport, Grand Bahama and two, in Dudley and Wolverhampton, in the UK. (E-04.17.07)
