THUNDERBIRD FLIES HIGH

The recent opening of the International Thunderbird Gaming Corporation’s Fiesta Casino Costa Rica is to be followed by the launch of its Philippine Fiesta Casino Manila on April 12, and by June the company should announce proposed locations for new operations in Chile. Thunderbird is already active in Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatamala, with expansion projects well underway or completed in all four countries.

The company has accomplished a listing on the Canadian Network Quotation and is pursuing a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange to allow European shareholders greater access for trading shares. When Chile passed its Casino Law in early January, Thunderbird already had several projects under consideration. Of particular interest are Rancagua, Concepcion, Antofagasta and Talca, but with 17 new licences to be made available the company intends to bid for between 6 and 8. Results of the bidding should be known by March 2006 and the licences will be granted to the projects that maximize economic and tourism impact.

Over the last seven years Thunderbird has become a leading casino and entertainment company in Latin America, operating under strict internal controls and accountability. In many cases it has been ahead of the game by opening in countries considered a business risk, but the company has a well-developed formula for assessing financial viability, political risk and security alongside licence requirements and projected revenues.

In North American native legend the thunderbird is a powerful spirit in the form of a bird. International Thunderbird Gaming Corporation, under its President and CEO Jack R Mitchell, is becoming a powerful force in the world of Latin American gaming. (E-03.17.05)
