Russia’s Unicum Group provides multilingual games software

AT HOME AND ABROAD

Having acquired the nickname Gaming Goliath of Russia (Unicum services an estimated 80% of the Russian/CIS market), the Unicum Group is now looking to expand further and attract new players at home and abroad. The growing gaming market in Latin America means that Unicum will be exhibiting at the Colombian show FADJA 2006 in Bogotá on 29-30 March, and the growing Chinese speaking community at home means innovations for the company’s multilingual products.

The latest release of Unicum’s multilingual games software includes a version in Mandarin. The Adventures and Sensation slot machines support a number of languages, which take just seconds for a player to switch by the press of a button. Over five million Chinese live in the major metropolitan areas of the Russian Federation, the Far Eastern sector and Siberia. 20% of players in Eastern Siberia and the Far East are Chinese businessmen who, until now, have been limited to playing one or two familiar games. Now all games with the Chinese interface will offer them a clear and friendly option with help screens and pay tables. There is already great interest in the Chinese games, which can be supplied with Chinese artwork on the slot machine glass, from casino operators.

The Unicum Group has distributed and manufactured slot machines and equipment in Russia since 1990. It recently introduced research and consulting departments and has its own casino management solution Systems in Progress. The company also organizes the successful annual EELEX show, which this year has moved from its December slot to a new venue in September. Unicum is aiming to be a global company with an international presence, international sales network and products that will suit international market needs. (E-03.16.06)
