The asset holding company China Holdings Inc has announced that it will be developing 100 square kilometers of land in the Republic of China’s Inner Mongolia region over the next ten years. ‘China Vegas’ – A New World Resort City proposes a growth area of one million people in the 100 square kilometer plot at the centre of 800 square kilometers of land controlled by China Holdings. The urban framework for a future five million population will be provided.

An Entertainment Precinct Plan for a designated 20 square kilometers of land will include open spaces and recreational areas as well as hotels, offices, industrial and retail floor space. Resort City Central, an inner 5 square kilometers, is destined for casinos, golf courses, residential areas, shopping precincts, horse racing facilities and other recreational pursuits. It will have a cosmopolitan flavour with essential Chinese architecture combined with that of many of the world’s great cities such as Paris, London and Rome.

According to the company, “The entertainment destinations include: five-star hotels, themed casinos, pedestrian skyways linking hotels to casinos, boutiques, restaurants; Theatrical destinations include: Broadway-style musical theater, Las Vegas-style floor shows, traditional Chinese theater, international and Chinese movie premieres; The sports destinations include: golf courses with a clubhouse and golf academy and bordered by 250m 2 to 500m 2 villas, soccer field and a soccer stadium, exhibition hall, stadiums suitable for Olympic events, tennis courts, equestrian center, car and motorcycle racing, horse race track.”

China Vegas – The New World Resort City, is located near an existing brand-new airport, and served by advanced high-speed railway and modern highways. The entire required basic infrastructure was built by the Chinese Government by the end of 2008.
