This month Virgin Media has launched a new channel to its television offering. Challenge Jackpot (Virgin Media 154) is casino entertainment on a ‘fun, exciting and interactive new channel for the 21st century’ with games around the clock. Roulette Nation is live every night from 8pm to 4am with television presenters and there are other games such as Get Set Roulette, Hot Shot Keno and Face Up Hold’em.
Virgin Media supplies almost 10 million customers with digital TV, broadband, phones and mobiles. It is the only UK company to offer all four services to consumers. It is the UK's largest residential broadband provider, the largest virtual mobile network operator and the second largest provider of pay TV and home phone. On 8 May 2008 Virgin Media reported an operating loss of £5 million.
Neil Berkett, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Media, said: “Our first quarter results represent another solid operational performance. In particular, churn continued to decline, reflecting the emphasis that we have placed on this area. Our results demonstrate that our customers are continuing to respond positively to our compelling consumer propositions. We remain focused on leading in next generation broadband and redefining the TV experience through on-demand. With our focus on customer value, reducing churn and stabilizing ARPU, we are well positioned for growth.”
The Challenge channel, home of game show entertainment, offers famous quiz formats, cult shows and ‘games shows galore’. The latest Virgin TV experience, Challenge Jackpot, brings the fun of TV to casino gaming, which can also be played on the Virgin Media Interactive Service and online at www.challegejackpot.com.
