Furthering its international expansion and reflecting worldwide demand for its products, WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc., announced yesterday that it will debut new product lines and game themes for international markets at the sixth annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas, November 14-16. In addition, WMS announced new sales offices to be opened to serve the rapidly growing Asian and South American markets with video reel, mechanical reel, video poker and other approved gaming machines.
As part of its strategic initiative to expand its global presence, earlier this year WMS acquired Orion Gaming, a Netherlands-based designer, manufacturer and distributor of gaming machines. Orion products, representing a second brand of video products for international customers, will be featured in WMS' booth. WMS and Orion Gaming are consolidating their distribution capabilities to serve international customers.
The acquisition of Orion Gaming enhanced WMS' global presence, adding a talented product development team focused on international markets, including new products currently under development for the European amusement-with-prize video market. Over the past year, WMS has advanced and expanded the framework for its CPU-NXT operating system such that game themes can be brought out simultaneously to both North American and international customers.
As a result, international customers attending the G2E trade show will see a much broader selection of new game themes available for their markets at WMS’s booth 1357.
To more closely serve expanding geographic regions, WMS is opening new offices in Macau, China and Buenos Aires, Argentina, which will expand WMS' worldwide presence that already includes offices in Barcelona, Spain; Aosta, Italy; Amsterdam and Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, England and multiple locations in North America.
In addition, to develop regional-specific content, WMS operates game development studios in Sydney, Australia, London, England, Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands, Chicago, Illinois and Las Vegas, Nevada. Through these development studios, WMS designs customized and translated products for key markets to ensure continuous throughput and player engagement. WMS game themes are also generally available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian and select games in Mandarin Chinese.
Brian R. Gamache, President and Chief Executive Officer of WMS Industries, said: “With offices and operations on almost every continent, we are poised to capitalize on new global market opportunities as they arise. Being geographically closer to our customers will enable us to proactively anticipate their needs and specific market preferences. Our broader global stance also enables us to further diversify our revenue model by market and region.” (E-11.10.06)
