Beneficial Holdings Inc, incorporated in Nevada, is a casino investment and management company. It says it owns, operates and manages, and is developing or acquiring, gaming and casino facilities in Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. In October last year the company announced that it had contracted for the purchase of seven gaming locations in Nicaragua. Just one day later it reported that consultants had been retained to explore gaming opportunities in Argentina, Colombia and Peru.
In September 2009 Beneficial Holdings entered a war of words with Thunderbird Resorts after TBIRD issued a rebuttal to an acquisition offer, suggesting that Beneficial Holdings might lack the resources to make such an offer. Today a Costa Rica news service has stated that Beneficial Holdings is in the final stages of launching an online casino in that country.

the next month and a contract is in place for the development of custom software. Several European language versions of the website are anticipated and customers in the United States will not be targeted.
Costa Rica is presently discussing a bill to better regulate and oversee betting activity, including online operations, in the country. Operators so far pay no gaming taxes as there is no relevant legislation. Laura Chinchilla, official candidate for the Costa Rican presidency, recently told workers involved in the gambling industry that maintaining the industry was important as it generated many jobs but that clear regulations were needed for it to continue.
