The World Gaming Festival (WGF), first of its kind gaming festival in the world, concluded its debut edition last Monday amidst much fanfare. Over 300 contestants across India competed for the big prize money at stake. The Casino Royale, Goa – India’s largest LIVE gaming casino vessel played host to the WGF, where all five tournaments were played simultaneously. Each of them were decided on the last hand, with Black Jack closing on the very last card. The WGF brought to India a global lifestyle and gaming experience for the first time ever.
The country’s top 300 gamers were brought on one platform to compete for the prize money up for grabs. India’s best gamers were putting their skills, strategy and expertise to use to out-smart each other and claim glory. The finalists were avidly supported by their families, friends and relatives who were on-board to applaud and encourage them.
As a good will & good luck gesture the final hand for every tournament was dealt by Mr. Narinder Punj, Managing Director, Highstreet Cruises and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd - a fully owned subsidiary of Delta Corp. Mr. Punj has over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry.
At the completion of each tournament, the winner was interviewed by a TV crew, which covered the entire event and the winner’s interview had been broadcast on the big screens across the three floors of the Casino Royale. The excitement, thrill and satisfaction of each of the winners were cheered for and acknowledged by everyone aboard the vessel.

The festival witnessed an array of entertainment activities being rolled out at regular intervals ranging from the Can Can dancers - an eclectic mix of international artists and Indian performers – a Jazz band; award winning Violinists & Saxophonists; Spanish dance performances; Live Commentators; champagne hostesses; internationally renowned bubble act; and some of the latest innovative entertainment performances.
