As previously reported, the Isle of Man government said in September that it was seeking expressions of interest from organisations interested in working with it to establish a 5-star hotel and casino complex on the Island. The government now has announced it has prepared supporting information, available on request, regarding the opportunity. According to the Manx authorities, a high quality hotel and casino complex incorporating conference and leisure facilities presents an exceptional opportunity to build and operate a casino resort hotel in Europe and provides an exciting opportunity for both the Island, and for those involved in financing, developing and operating casino hotel leisure resorts.
John Shimmin MHK, Minister for the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development, said, “I am delighted that this project is progressing well and anticipate good levels of interest in this unique opportunity to develop a hotel and resort complex in the Isle of Man. Anyone interested in this opportunity should in the first instance make contact with our Director of the Business Development Agency who will be able to supply further information and detail."

Expressions of interest are to be assessed and invitations to tender formally will follow. Tenders submitted will involve consideration by the Department of Economic Development, who will be liaising with Global Betting and Gaming Consultants (CBGC) and the Island’s Gambling Supervision Commission. Meetings may be arranged with representatives of interested parties where appropriate. GBGC, established in 1998 and now one of the most credible specialist, independent, international gambling consultancies, operates from the Isle of Man supported by a dedicated research team in Zagreb, Croatia.
