Positive news, confirmed in Bogota, that replacement of gaming devices is not subject to any limitations in Colombia, receives a resounding welcome by gaming operators, suppliers and manufacturers. They are all getting ready, from all cardinal points in Colombia, the Caribbean and Latin America, to meet at the Andean Gaming Trade Show – FADJA 2010, one of the most important commercial events on the calendar of industry events, to take place at Corferias, Bogota’s supreme expo centre during 21-22 April.
The good tidings arrive with the announcement issued by ETESA, the state health and welfare body (in a process of liquidation by Government order), of special measures to support the gaming industry in the country and not hinder its development and growth. In this way all other State dependencies are directed not to affect gaming operations nor the growth dynamics in the sector.
Government Resolution No. 0072 of February 26 modifies Resolution No. 0059 of January 26, and as a consequence the process to replace the gaming devices that the first one had restricted has been superseded and the industry is not subject to any limitations. This totally clears the way for successful business transactions among buyers and exhibitors at FADJA 2010, which is the custom during this Latin American industry event.
“In adverse weather conditions at sea, only vessels with solid foundations and an expert crew are able to cruise forth and advance towards the intended destination. If we go from this maritime metaphor to commercial language, we can say that FADJA will arrive renewed and strengthened to a safe port.” This was the comment made by Jose Anibal Aguirre, General Director of the Andean Gaming Trade Show, when he was asked about the new Government decisions on the gaming sector, which momentarily generated some discomfort among the participants of the Colombian trade show.

The predictions of a successful version of FADJA 2010 remain intact, thanks not only to the support and efforts shown by companies and institutions committed to this event, who have always believed and trusted the productivity of the expo and its professional organization, but also in the management of FECEAZAR, the Colombian Federation of Gaming Business, that was able to transmit encouraging messages to keep everyone calm and with a positive attitude, fulfilling its mission as a promoter of unity of the Colombian gaming industry with total satisfaction.
Additionally, the operators of FECOLCUEGOS, through its president, Rocio Albornoz, also stated the organization’s support for the realization of FADJA on the set dates for next April 21 and 22.
Aguirre concluded with optimism: “We are sure that united we will make a great expo together with all the visitors from Colombia and abroad who are expecting to see the latest technological developments that will be presented at FADJA. Visitors are confirming their interest through multiple registrations in the web page www.fadja.com, from companies in the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Ecuador, Aruba, Peru, Spain, Canada, Panama, Guatemala and the United States.” (E-03.05.10)
