Next Saturday Genting UK will open the first Genting Club in the country, at Derby’s Riverlights. Said to be the best entertainment venue Derby has to offer, the city was chosen for the launch of Genting’s new concept because of the space offered by Riverlights and its central location. There are two unique bars, one on each floor, a premium grill and the Genting Club lounge, which can be transformed into a dance floor or used for live entertainment.
A number of ‘pods’ provide seating areas with tables fitted with interactive touch-screen technology that will allow up to 12 people to play games, make music and order food and drink. The main gaming floor has slot machines as well as live roulette and blackjack. A poker room can be converted into a functions room. It is intended that gambling is just one feature of the entertainment venue providing ‘the best night out around’ for adults.
The Genting Club at Riverlights is providing 120 jobs and it is hoped that the development will help rejuvenate that area of Derby.

Riverlights is a city centre leisure scheme fronting the River Derwent and Riverside gardens. The scheme incorporates a new bus station for Derby, a Holiday Inn Hotel, a Hampton by Hilton Hotel, a large convenience store and the Genting Club casino. There are also 5 bar/restaurant units with a river view aspect.
On Thursday there will be a VIP night at the Genting Club in Derby and senior management is expected to attend from Malaysia. The company has declared its intention to open more Genting Clubs in the UK. (E-11.15.11)
